I’m experimenting with the background colour which will be sitting about 12mm behind the surface. It will also act as a structural base for the box frame. In its electrified state helium is a pale peach to orange colour but when it burns it becomes a blue colour. Even though it will only appear through the drill holes, getting the right shade of blue that complements the orange values is going to be the key. The top image above is on Perspex Fluorescent Neptune Blue. The bottom image is on Perspex Frost Sapphire Blue.
